Springtime is finally here, and the wahoo fishing has been red hot. It seems like the wahoo made a strong showing during the holidays and never left. We have been catching multiple fish on half day and three-quarter day fishing trips.
There has also been a good blackfin tuna bite in the early mornings and late afternoons. While we’ve been targeting tuna with live bait the sailfish have shown up on occasion. Both fish have been snapping really well. We’ve slow trolling and baits and also freelining live baits when we spot fish in the area.
Lately, the more successful trips have been three-quarter day charters (6 hours) in the afternoon when conditions seem to be more favorable.
Tight lines and stay safe,
Capt. Ralph
